HOW DO I REGISTER?

It is not necessary to register. However, in order to make check-in faster, please complete and bring the "waiver form" above. You can also let us know you’re coming in the “Get In Touch” section on www.slideoverlymphoma.com.

WHAT TIME DO WE NEED TO BE THERE?

Doors open at 1PM! Our goal is to have 10,000 come together to break the Guinness World Record attempt for the greatest number of people simultaneously performing the electric slide dance. Please understand that it will take some time to get 10,000 checked in and lined up for the dance. We ask that you please arrive at 1pm with a signed waiver! Once you get scanned, please make your way toward the center of the field and follow the Stewards’ directions. Remember that while we wait, you can warm up and enjoy entertainment by Scooter the DJ!

IS THERE A REGISTRATION FEE?

Slide Over Lymphoma is a fundraiser event in support of the Lymphoma Research Foundation (LRF). LRF’s mission is to eradicate lymphoma and serve those touched by this disease. While there is no registration fee, we will gladly accept donations to support our mission and get use closer to a world without lymphoma.

To donate prior to the event, please visit http://support.lymphoma.org/goto/slideoverlymphoma. To learn more about LRF, visit www.lymphoma.org.

HOW CAN I MAKE A DONATION?

Cash donations will be accepted at check-in and throughout the event. Credit card and check donations will be accepted at the Team LRF table. Checks should be made to the “Lymphoma Research Foundation” or “LRF”, with a memo about Slide Over Lymphoma. However, if you would like to donate prior to the event, please visit http://support.lymphoma.org/goto/slideoverlymphoma and click on “donate.” For offline donations prior to the event, please use this form.

WHERE DO I PARK?

The Polo Club is aware of the size of the event and has parking available. Please follow the directions of the Parking Attendants, who will be directing you on where to park. However, we encourage people to also use the two shuttle busses leaving from Hope Lutheran Church and Fairway Christian Church (between Morse Road and CR-466). The buses will continually be picking up in front of the Lutheran Church (by the CR 466 entrance) and dropping off at the entrance of the Polo Field at Saddlebrook Ln. (For Fairway Christian Church, please be aware that parking is only available in the back of the church.)

WILL THERE BE GOLF CART PARKING?

Yes, golf carts are more than welcomed. We encourage golf carts as well as carpooling in them if you have a 4-seater!

WHAT IF I CAN’T WALK FROM MY PARKING SPOT?

The Villages Golf Carts will be providing shuttle services from the different parking spots in the Polo Club to the field. Please find a Volunteer Guide at your parking spot if you have any questions.

CAN WE BRING PERSONAL BELONGINGS ONTO THE FIELD?

We would like to avoid any objects be placed in the field, to avoid any tripping accidents. However, if you would like to bring your own folding chairs to leave at the end of the fields during the dance you are more than welcome to do so.  We also recommend bringing a hat and sunscreen given that we will be in field for a couple of hours!

WILL THERE BE PORTA JOHNS?

There will be 40 portajohns spread throughout the field for participants to use.

WILL THERE BE FOOD OR WATER?

There will be water stations throughout the event. However, if you’d like to bring your own water bottle, you are more than welcome to do so. We simply ask that nothing is left on the field during the dance.

WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?

This event is rain or shine.

DO I HAVE TO KNOW THE DANCE?

You don’t! Scooter will be doing a couple practice runs before the official dance. However, if you’d like to practice on your own. Please view this video on our website www.slideoverlymphoma.com. If you don’t want to dance but would like to be involved, please contact ridemanager@lymphoma.org to help as a volunteer!

HOW WILL WE KNOW IF WE BROKE THE WORLD RECORD?

There are multiple Guinness guidelines we have to follow throughout the event for a successful and accurate count (more below). We will submit all the appropriate paperwork to Guinness after the event. They will review and let us know if we broke the world record in 10-12 weeks.

HOW WILL I BE COUNTED?

There are two things that need to happen to ensure you are accurately counted as a participant for Slide Over Lymphoma. First, when you enter the field you MUST receive a bar-coded sticker and have it scanned by a volunteer. Second, make sure you receive a wristband from a Steward before the dancing starts. Stewards need to oversee 50 dancing participants. If you don’t have a wristband, then a steward is not overseeing you and you’re not being counted!

HOW CAN I HELP?

There are three important things you can do to help make this event smoothly.  First, remember to carpool (even carpool in your golf carts if you can!). Second, listen to what the Polo Ground Attendants, Volunteer staff (in red shirts) and Village Polo Club Officials tell you. They will be handling traffic and moving the crowds. And third, remember that while the dance is five minutes, getting 10,000 people in the polo grounds and field is going to take some time.  We know that some people will have to come in earlier than others and wait, but it is the only way we can make this happen.

CAN I WALK TO THE EVENT?

If you live in close proximity to the Polo Grounds, you are more than welcome to walk to the event. We ask that you please use the golf cart tunnel instead of walking across the street to avoid slowing down vehicular traffic. Golf carts will be crossing the street during the event and not using the tunnel.

WHERE WILL CARS ENTER THE POLO GROUNDS?

Please follow the parking attendants’ instructions. The current plan is for cars to enter in the north entrance and for golf carts and the shuttles to enter on the south entrance.

WHAT IF WE WANT TO DANCE WITH OUR FRIENDS IN A LARGE GROUP?

We are thrilled that clubs and groups are coming together! The best way to guarantee you can dance together is to come in together! Arrange a meeting spot outside the Polo grounds, and then pile into a few cars and carpool in together to the grounds.  This will allow you to park and enter together.   Once you have been counted and scanned and are on the field we will be directing people into rows, so if you walk in together, you will be directed into the same row.

If you are meeting someone who is a steward, they will know in advance what row they are in and should be able to text someone in your group. We will have two entrances to Field 1, each with an LRF arch. If you want to make a plan if people get separated, they can meet at either the arch on the North side or the South Side.
